Having departed Caynham, we arrived at Thunderspire mountain and proceeded into the depths. While following the latern lit path to the Hall of Seven Pillars, we rescued a Halfling (Randell half Moon) from Hobgoblin slave traders. These were the first Blood Reavers we ran into. Valkor Vandette, who now has a familiar, opened in spectacular fashion in eliminating their magic caster, however the rest of the battle turned into a war of attrition but emerged victorious and with a new ally. Randel’s Aunt owns the Inn in the Hall of Seven Pillars so we made for that.
When we reached the Hall of Seven Pillars, we were met by a customs agent who gave us a rough guide to the layout. There are Duergar operating here, I shall have to keep an eye on them. Luckily there is also one of my bretheren in Ulfhand Deepgem to keep them in check. Sadly he has lost his Direboar after his mining party was ambushed. If we come across it in our wandering we shall have to make sure it is returned.
We have also discussed a lost skull sceptre for the local curios dealer (a Drow I might add). He has requested it’s safe return in exchange for 300Gp.
Amongst the more colourful characters here is Serena who is associated with the Temple of Arrathis, and she seems bent to the eradication of Drow and Duergar alike. While in principle I agree with her views, and you can’t help but admire her “enthusiasm”, I can’t help but suspect our energies might be better directed at this stage.
After acquiring accommodation in the Half Moon Inn our path is being guided by Darkseeker, who is very able in finding his way around this maze. After seeking his counsel regarding our options, he has guided us to the Temple of Eyes as this is the Blood Reaver’s base of operations. We have cleared out the front section, including a Bug Bear. Regrettably one of the Hobgoblins escaped and is possibly on their way to alert the others beyond the doors. We anticipate company very shortly…
